Treatment Options for Mental Disorders in South Bay, California
In the treatment of a patient’s mental disorder, we have a team of mental health professionals composed of a psychiatrist, clinical psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and marriage and family therapists to ensure that the patient get the best care possible.
Since there is no one-size-fits-all approach to treatment, we first conduct a thorough assessment of their mental health, medical and treatment history, and family and personal issues. We will help them get the best intervention.
This program is applicable for those patients who do not pose a possible risk of harm to others or themselves. They exhibit acute psychiatric symptoms that are difficult to manage but do not require 24-hour care. This program requires 6 hours of treatment each day through the week. While in this program, patients receive additional support to develop the skills and tools needed to manage their symptoms and their daily lives. Both group and individual therapy, case management, medical and psychiatric services are also included in the program.
This is a “step down” program for patients who have completed an inpatient or residential program. They are able to live at home. This is applicable for patients who have shown improvement and can stay healthy on their own. They can live without the constant supervision of medical professionals and can stick to a treatment plan. This program may also be an option for those with family responsibilities like taking care of a child. The patient usually receives a high level of care for three to five days a week while they work on developing their routine.
Another treatment option we provide is the outpatient treatment in the form of group counseling or individual therapy. The patients will attend both counseling sessions from one to five days per week. This is suitable for those patients who have completed the PHP and IOP. They have mild to moderate symptoms, with a solid support system. They have also proven that they have restored their ability to function outside of the treatment environment.
